Shooting into north Charlotte home injures 18-year-old woman: PD

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – An 18-year-old woman was injured after a home was shot into in north Charlotte overnight, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said on Tuesday.

Officers responded to calls regarding the incident around 1 a.m. at a home on Yorkford Drive in north Charlotte. An 18-year-old woman was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was transported to an area medical center to be treated for serious injuries.

An initial investigation stated that the occupied home was shot into by an unknown suspect who had a handgun. A 57-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl were also in the home at the time of the shooting.

There is no mention of a suspect and this remains an active investigation.
