Shooting in Frederick leaves one injured; Frederick Police Department investigating

Feb. 22—A Sunday afternoon shooting in Frederick left one person injured, according to the Frederick Police Department, in an incident authorities are saying is not random.

The victim, a teenage male, had been released from the hospital by Monday evening.

Frederick Police Lt. Andrew Alcorn said the the suspect and victim likely knew each other.

Around 4:10 p.m., FPD officers responded to a report of a firearm discharge in the 900 block of Mosby Drive.

When officers got to the scene, they found the male victim who had been shot.

Witnesses said that "as the victim parked his vehicle, the suspect pulled up and discharged a firearm in his direction," according to FPD.

The suspect left the area in a silver sedan.
