Shooting at Clarksville's Smooves Grill being investigated as homicide

A shooting at Smooves Grill & Bar in Clarksville has now turned into a homicide investigation.

At approximately 12:38 a.m. Sunday, the Clarksville Police Department received a 911 call about a shooting inside Smooves Grill & Bar at 2150 Ft. Campbell Blvd., according to a CPD media release.

A man had a gunshot wound to the abdomen, and medical aid was provided until EMS arrived, police said in the release.

The victim was transported to Tennova Healthcare by Montgomery County EMS where he later died as a result of his injuries.

At this time, the name of the victim is not being released until the next of kin is notified, police said.
