‘I should shoot you’: Cashier threatened by man short 50¢ for cigar, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is wanted for allegedly pulling a gun on an employee after she refused to give him a cigar for a lesser price, Memphis police say.

A little before 7 p.m. Tuesday, the suspect went to the Family Grocery on Kerr Avenue to buy a cigar.

After realizing he was short 50 cents, he told the cashier to just give him the cigar anyway.

According to MPD, the cashier refused. The suspect then pulled out a gun, pointed it over the counter, and said, “I should shoot you.”

He fled the scene wearing a half-ski mask and white tank top.

Man tried to rob store with 5-foot snake, police say

No arrests have been made, and this remains an ongoing investigation, police say.
