Shocking 'Dancing With the Stars' Finale as New Champion Crowned

Everyone was excited for the Dancing With the Stars finale, and it did not disappoint. Season 24 had one of the most dramatic and shocking final result announcements in recent history. 5th Harmony singer Normani Kordei was a favorite going into the finals. She had the most total points of any of the contestants, including perfect scores for her performances in Argentine tango, Contemporary, Jazz, Freestyle, and Argentine Tango/Foxtrot fusion. In a shocking announcement, Kordei finished in the third place. The judges, hosts, audience, and most of Twitter couldn't believe that the best dancer didn't win. With Rashad Jennings and David Ross as the two remaining finalists, it was really anyone's Mirror Ball Trophy to win. Ross was lowest scoring contestant by a lot, but he was clearly a fan favorite as he kept making it past the weekly eliminations. Jennings may not have been quite as popular as Ross but he was by far the best male dancer in competition. Throughout the season Jennings put in 100 more hours of rehearsal time than either Ross or Kordei. All that extra effort paid off as he was crowned the champion of Dancing With the Stars season 24.
