CANTON − The Margaret B. Shipley Child Health Clinic recently honored its longtime office manager, Ruth Mangus, who has retired after decades of service.

Also known as "Ruthie," Mangus worked at Shipley Clinic for 33 years as a key member of a team that serves children ages birth to 18 in 12 counties who seek quality, affordable and accessible healthcare.

"It's not every day that you see someone in today's economy who dedicates 33 years of their career to one organization, but Ruth is that person who shows up every day, builds relationships with the staff, and families- and Shipley Clinic is that kind of place," said Shipley Clinic Executive Director Amy Weisbrod. "We will miss her and wish her the best in retirement."

Located at 919 Second St. NE, the nonprofit clinic was founded in 1971 by the late Dr. Margaret B. Shipley. It provides care for the uninsured, the underinsured and those on Medicaid with a team of clinicians and providers specializing in pediatric healthcare and mental health.

The clinic is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays. It is always accepting new patients, and offers same-day sick appointments. Shipley also offers free vaccines.
