This Shindig is Proof That Turning 50 is #GlamorousAF

To celebrate a big birthday milestone, the owner of Superfine Bakery, Andrea Boudewijn threw a #FiftyAF party and the glamour was through the roof. Pairing the casual atmosphere of a gorgeous backyard with insanely chic details like ghost chairs, white and gold table settings, green garlands and cheeky hashtags too, Wink! Event Design along with The Little Branch Florals and onelove photography captured the spirit of being 50 and fabulous.

When Superfine Bakery owner Andrea Boudewijn asked us to craft her 50th birthday celebration, we knew we had to pull out all the stops. Anyone who has met her knows Andrea's larger than life personality (and laugh), and we wanted to make sure we echoed that. With the help of Town & Country Event Rentals, we created an outdoor dining space that felt like an extension of her Sherman Oaks home on a champagne-sugar high! A 15 foot high free-standing structure was draped in large Edison lights and breezy chiffon. Summers in the valley are HOT HOT HOT, and we wanted to be able to give guests some relief from the evening sun without forsaking that golden hour glow. Ghost chairs flanked espresso stained tables from Circa Vintage Rentals, and lush tabletop rentals from Borrowed BLU set the stage for the perfect dinner party. Andrea has a love of high contrast, and we were excited to play on that by marrying dark espresso with crisp white and gold. But of course the cherry on top was the lush florals crafted by none other than The Little Branch. Pretty tables and finely pressed napkins are one thing, but it's not a dinner party without some top notch food and drink! Rosie of Stayin' Gold Craft Cocktails was at the helm of all things boozy, crafting cocktails for guests all evening long, including Andrea's signature drink the French 50. This refreshing take on the French 75 featured a few of Andrea's favorites including sparkling rose and crisp gin. *Recipe, additional photographs and tutorial video available for follow-up feature upon request* Chef Louis Pechan of Hundred Miles LA created the most delicious, summer inspired four course menu including an avocado and herb vichyssoise, lobster with peach hollandaise, and of course, perfectly roasted duck."Of course you did," was the response heard round the table of 30 as Andrea revealed her own birthday cake, made by none other than her own hands. And with that, the night descended into a rose champagne sugar rush that sent Andrea into her 50s in style!
