Sheriff says man allegedly sexually assaulted Lowes employee in Henry County

HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The Henry County Sheriff says a man has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting an employee at a local big box hardware store on May 12.

According to the sheriff, around 11:20 a.m. on Sunday, officers arrived at Lowe’s Home Improvement on Commonwealth Blvd. On the scene, they spoke with a male victim who works at the store.

The victim claimed that a man, later identified as 42-year-old Malvester Penn III of Martinsville, first approached him, and started a conversation. Penn then allegedly touched the employee inappropriately and made sexual remarks.

Henry County Sheriff Deputies and Martinsville Police Officers worked together during the investigation and quickly identified Penn as the suspect.

Around 5:00 p.m. that same day, deputies took Penn into custody and charged him with Sexual Assault and was trespassed from the business.

Malvester Penn received a $2,000 secure bond.
