Travis County Sheriff’s Office makes arrest in northwest Austin homicide investigation

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Travis County Sheriff’s Office arrested a San Antonio man Monday afternoon while investigating a northwest Austin homicide.

TCSO arrested William Jewel Daniel, 36, and charged him with murder, according to a spokesperson. The arrest stems from an investigation that began just before 4 a.m. Monday after deputies found a man with gunshot wounds in the 13000 block of Amarillo Avenue. TCSO said the victim was a man in his 40s but hasn’t provided further identification.

That area is near the intersection of West Parmer Lane and McNeil Drive.

Deputies began CPR until Austin-Travis County EMS arrived and started life-saving measures. The man was ultimately pronounced dead on the scene.
