Sheriff: Motorcycle crashes into boat being towed in Calumet County, 18-year-old dies

NEW HOLSTEIN, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Calumet County are investigating a crash involving a motorcycle and boat being towed that resulted in the death of an 18-year-old.

According to the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office, on May 14 around 7:30 p.m., it was notified of a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of CTH HH and Meyer Road in New Holstein. The accident reportedly involved a motorcycle.

Officials say that the initial investigation showed a motorcycle going westbound on CTH HH hit a boat that was being towed. The incident was described as a rear-end collision.

The driver of the motorcycle, identified as an 18-year-old from New Holstein, reportedly died at the scene. The people in the truck that was towing the boat were not injured, according to officials.

The incident is still under investigation. It is mentioned that the initial investigation suggests speed was a factor.

Multiple agencies assisted the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office. No additional information was provided.
