Sheriff: Man found with dead woman in back seat in Washington County, Va.

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Va. (WJHL) – A man is in custody after he was reportedly found driving with a dead woman in his back seat, Washington County, Virginia Sheriff Blake Andis told News Channel 11.

According to Andis, the sheriff’s office received a call around 2 p.m. Thursday regarding the incident in the Exit 7 area off I-81.

The suspect was found in a shopping center parking lot and taken into custody around 2:15 p.m., Andis said.

No identities have been released pending the notification of next of kin.

Andis said the Virginia State Police are assisting in the investigation.
