Shelter-in-place lifted for Marin County neighborhood

(KRON) — A shelter-in-place was issued Monday afternoon for a neighborhood in Marin County, the County of Marin Office of Emergency Management said in a Nixle alert. Residents near the border between San Anselmo and San Rafael were asked to stay inside.

As of 2:45 p.m., the shelter-in-place was lifted about one hour after the Nixle alert was announced. The shelter-in-place was issued for those who live in the area of 16 Terrace Ave. to Greenfield Avenue to Ross Valley Drive to Terrace Avenue.

Authorities are looking for one more suspect involved in a home burglary in San Geronimo Valley, which is about 10 miles west of the shelter-in-place, the Marin County Sheriff’s Office told KRON4. One suspect was caught, and the other remains at large.

The suspect is a Black man in his late 20s or early 30s, authorities said. He was wearing a white T-shirt, dark-colored shorts and “possibly missing a shoe.”

Although the shelter-in-place was lifted, Marin County authorities did not say whether or not the at-large suspect was detained.
