Shelby County fugitive apprehended by US Marshals

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — After a week-long search, a Shelby County fugitive was apprehended by US Marshals in Memphis.

On April 16, Tipton County deputies located a wanted Shelby County fugitive, Marcus Terell Fayne, in the area of Highway 14.

Deputies attempted to stop Fayne to take him into custody on felony warrants, but he began fleeing in his vehicle and a pursuit ensued through southeastern Tipton County and eventually into northeast Shelby County.

Deputies lost sight of Fayne and the pursuit was discontinued.

On April 23 at approximately 10:30 a.m., Fayne, 40, was apprehended in the 4000 block of North Bay Drive in Memphis by the US Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force with the assistance of the Shelby County Fugitive Unit.

Fayne was wanted for aggravated robbery, vandalism under $1,000, theft of property, aggravated stalking, violation of an order of protection, domestic assault, violation of bail conditions as well as his felony evading and reckless endangerment warrants issued by the Tipton County Sheriff’s Office.

“Marcus Fayne has a lengthy criminal history and is no stranger to the Tipton County jail nor court system,” Tipton County Sheriff Shannon Beasley said. “His actions of fleeing from law enforcement on April 16th caused many lives to be in danger with his blatant disregard for the safety of others. Thanks to the U.S. Marshals and Shelby County Fugitive Division, Fayne’s days of running are over with for now and I thank them for the work they did to apprehend Fayne.”

Fayne was transported to the Tipton County Jail where he is currently being held without bond due to a bond revocation from a previous charge.

He is scheduled to appear before General Sessions judge M.O. Eckel on May 15 at 9:00 a.m.

He will be released to Shelby County to answer for his charge there once he is released from Tipton County.
