Sheaun McKinney Gets ‘Great News’; Britt George Joins ‘Too Close To Home’

Vice PrincipalsSheaun McKinney has landed a recurring role on NBC’s comedy series Great News, executive produced by Tracey Wigfield, Tina Fey, Robert Carlock and David Miner. The mother-daughter workplace comedy centers on Katie, an up-and-coming news producer who thinks it might just be the worse news ever when she finds out her overbearing mom has rejoined the workforce as an intern at Katie’s station. But with her biggest cheerleader at her side, Katie finally might get the recognition she deserves. McKinney will play Wayne, the cameraman who accompanies Katie to Central Park to cover a news story about a dangerous bear that’s on the loose. McKinney can be seen in HBO’s comedy series Vice Principals, opposite Danny McBride and Walton Goggins. He also appeared on Burn Notice, Common Law and Graceland. McKinney is repped by Tash Moseley Management, UTA and attorney Matt Rosen.

Britt George has joined the cast of Tyler Perry’s Too Close to Home in a recurring role. The drama series centers on a young woman who returns back to her Southern roots after making headlines in a major D.C. political scandal. George will star as the owner of the local honky tonk in the small Alabama town. Known for his roles in History’s docu-drama Cryptid: The Swamp Beast and HBO’s True Blood, George has a starring role in AXS TV’s first original made-for-TV movie Elvis Lives! He’ll also star in the upcoming faith-based film Boonville Redemption, opposite Ed Asner and Diane Ladd, and indie wrestling comedy Heels, which he also executive produced.
