‘She Gives So Much Of Her Time And Self To Others’: Chicago Hero

CHICAGO — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

This submission comes from Ruby Jackson who nominated Dr. Sabha Abour of Chicago.

Name: Sabha Abour
Hometown: Chicago
Hero's job: Food and PPE Distribution
Relationship to nominee: Community Work
Reason for recognition: Dr. Abour has organized food And PPE drives for 20 weeks since Covid started. She gives so much of her time and self to others consistently. She has no organization but brings organizations together. She brought Orgs that didn’t like each other together.
One thing to know: She’s a genuine person who just gets along with everyone.

Thank you for all you do, Dr. Abour!
