Shannon man charged with February strong-arm robbery

TUPELO – Follow a nearly three-month investigation, a Shannon man has been arrested in connection with a Tupelo robbery.

Officers with the Tupelo Police Department were dispatched to a robbery at a West Main Street business on Feb. 11. The victim told responding officers that a Black male suspect approached her vehicle, opened the door and demanded her purse. The suspect jumped into a nearby vehicle and fled the scene.

The investigation led to the May 5 arrest of Quintel Montgomery, 27, of County Road 600, Shannon, charged with strong-arm robbery.

During his initial appearance Monday, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Jay Weir set bond at $40,000 bond.
