Shannen Doherty Praises Members of Her Medical Team as She Undergoes Another Round of Radiation

Shannen Doherty is praising members of her radiation team as she continues her brave fight against breast cancer.

The former 90210 actress took to Instagram on Wednesday to document another round of radiation — and thank her medical team for their support in her journey.

“Another day of radiation. Meet Anna and Vince, 2 members of my radiation team. They make a concerted effort to talk to me and show me what’s going on in this process so I don’t feel so out of control in it,” Doherty, 45, captioned a photo of herself in a hospital gown with two thumbs up beside two members of her supportive team.

“Never be too timid to speak up and ask for what you need to get thru the process. None of this is easy but a great team can make it more pleasant. #cancerslayer #fightlikeagirl #warrior #communicationiskey,” she encouraged fans.

The actress revealed to PEOPLE in August 2015 that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. “Yes, I have breast cancer, and I am currently undergoing treatment,” the actress said in an exclusive statement. “I am continuing to eat right, exercise and stay very positive about my life,” she continued. “I am thankful to my family, friends and doctors for their support and, of course, my fans who have stood by me.”

In the year-and-a-half since she announced her battle, Doherty has openly documented her journey on social media, including her first day of radiation when she admitted, “I hate it.” Last week, Doherty shared her secret to relaxing after radiation treatments.

“#radiationday with my mom. Came home and whipped her up some homemade tomato soup cause cooking relaxes me. I think she liked it,” she wrote on Instagram of a photo of herself and her mother, Rosa, with an empty dish.
