It’s not New Year’s Eve — it’s just Shakira!

Around 40,000 fans flocked to watch Shakira perform at the TSX Stage in Times Square on Tuesday evening after she announced the pop-up show on her social media accounts just hours earlier, according to Billboard.

The Colombian singer, 47, got a rawr from the crowd when the stage doors opened around 7:30 p.m. with her fan-favorite song, “Hips Don’t Lie,” blaring around the crowded Manhattan street.

Donning black pants and silver embellishments top, she dazzled fans with hits like “TQM,” “Cómo Dónde y Cuándo,” “Te Felicito,” and “Puntería.”

The three-times Grammy winner closed out the show with her hit “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53.”

“I’m happy to be here surrounded by my Latin people,” Shakira told her adoring fans.

“Thank you, New York! Until next time. I love you very much!”

The pop-up concert celebrated the release of her new album “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” (Women no longer cry), which hit streaming platforms on Friday.

It was also the singer’s first LP to be released in seven years, according to the outlet.

The performance comes just a day after Shakira’s appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” where Fallon shared that the Columbian superstar had already achieved unreal feats since it was released less than three days prior.

“In the first 24 hours it was released, the album became the most-streamed album of 2024, already,” the talk show host said.

“It was certified seven times platinum, already!”

For the cherry on top of “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” ’s massive success, Fallon excitedly shared that the album had been “10 billion times globally” as of Monday.

Shakira said she was “overwhelmed” with the rave reception to her new album, telling the talk show host she has “the best fans in the world” who have stuck by her side through “the good times and the bad times.”

The “Waka Waka” singer spoke openly about how she had time to release her first LP since 2017 now that she’s “husband-less.”

“Yeah, the husband was dragging me down,” she joked. “Now I’m free! Now I can actually work!”

She explained while creating the 16 tracks of the album, she was “raw” and “dealing with a lot of stuff.”

“I was writing, I felt at times, with a knife between my teeth… I was trying to rebuild myself, and music was the glue… I was transforming pain and anger and frustration into creativity and productivity and straight and resilience.”

Shakira and soccer star Gerard Piqué announced their split in 2022 after 11 years together.

Shakira started dating Pique in 2010, and they have two sons together: Milan, 11, and Sasha, 9.

They met on the set of the singer’s “Waka Waka” music video.

In January 2023, reports claimed that a container of fruit jelly made the Colombian singer suspicious of the athlete’s alleged infidelity.

Piqué went Instagram-official with girlfriend Clara Chia Marti in January and appears to be still going strong with his 25-year-old girlfriend.

He insisted in April 2023 that he does not “care about people’s opinions.”
