SF armed robbery suspect arrested

(KRON) — A suspect in an armed robbery that took place in San Francisco earlier this month has been arrested in a follow-up investigation, according to the San Francisco Police Department. The initial incident occurred on Jan. 4 at around 6:01 p.m.

SFPD officers from Taraval station responded to an armed robbery report at a business on the 1400 block of Ocean Avenue. At the scene, officers interviews the victim, a 19-year-old man. He told police he was working behind the counter when an armed man entered the business.

The armed man, the victim said, walked behind the counter and stole cash, before fleeing south on Miramar Avenue.

A couple of weeks later, on Jan. 17, an investigator was conducting a follow-up investigation in the area where the robbery occurred. The investigator spotted the suspect. Haoli Weng, 26, was arrested and booked on robbery charges.

Investigators searched Weng’s home and located a firearm. Police say that despite an arrest being made, the investigation remains open and active.
