Sex offender reportedly breaks into dorm room, offers to make ‘porn movie’

OKLAHOMA COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) – Charges were filed this week after a sex offender was found to have allegedly broken into an Oklahoma City University dorm room and offered to make a “porn movie.”

“It really just shocked everyone when we heard about it,” said Gian Carlo who lives in United Methodist Hall where the alleged attack happened.

Brandon Barr was arrested on January 17th after he was found to have allegedly broken into United Methodist Hall after identifying as a maintenance worker.

A probable cause affidavit outlined that Barr committed the offense of breaking and entering, when he entered UMH, a secured badge access facility, without authorization.

It also alleged that he made his way to a Resident Advisor’s room and knocked on the door. The victim advised Barr that she had not contacted maintenance and asked him to leave the room.

He allegedly didn’t and instead gave her a handshake, forcibly pulled her into a side hug, and reached around her with his free hand.

Documents show that she froze before pushing him back and putting her hands up to put some distance between them. Bar had allegedly blocked the door to her bedroom so she felt she could not leave.

That is when he allegedly began making sexual comments to the victim, asking her if she wanted to make a porn movie.

During it all, the victim was said to be frantically texting her group chat telling them there was an unknown man in her room and she needed immediate help.

Quickly after Oklahoma City Police showed up to find Barr and placed him under arrest.

“I don’t know how he got in because you need a key card to get in, probably someone else was walking out or something,” said Olivia Meek who knows the victim.

Oklahoma City University officials are aware of the criminal charges filed late last week. The OCU campus Police Department responded quickly at the time of the incident in question to apprehend the suspect, and has since worked closely with the Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office during their investigation. Out of respect for the ongoing judicial process, university officials will have no further comment at this time.

One arrest included indecent exposure, another for larceny, another for burglary, and others.

The charges were officially filed Monday, March 11th for the January incident. According to court records, he now faces additional charges of Breaking and Entering Without Permission, Sexual Assault and Battery, and Burglary in the 1st degree.

He is currently in the Oklahoma County Jail and has a bond of $65,000.

Students say that the victim is doing much better, and that it was just surprising for her.

“I think campus safety is a major issue no matter where you go,” said Carlo. “I think that we might be able to fix the slow-closing doors we have on campus. Maybe if they closed right after we opened it, that would be better.”

“Even if it just wasn’t automatic, I agree. I think that would help,” said Meek.
