Sex assault charges against Sharpsville man withdrawn

May 1—SHARON — Authorities withdrew sex assault charges against a Sharpsville man Wednesday, with the option to refile charges.

Travis Cadman, 20, of 904 W. Ridge Ave., was charged March 1 with statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse of a person younger than 16, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault without consent, aggravated indecent assault of a person younger than 16, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors in the case.

Cadman's preliminary hearing had been continued for six weeks.

Assistant District Attorney Andrew Acker said the charges are withdrawn, but that the commonwealth plans to refile felony charges in light of new information.

Defense Attorney Stanley T. Booker objected.

Police said the victim told them she had a sexual relationship with Cadman between February 2022 and February 2023 while she was 15.
