Severe thunderstorm warning issued for some East Texas counties

UPDATE: A Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Cherokee, Rusk and Smith County until 11:15 p.m. on Friday.

At 10:13 p.m. a severe thunderstorm was located near Whitehouse moving east at 25 mph. People are asked to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Locations impacted include Tyler, Jacksonville, Henderson, Kilgore, Whitehouse, Overton, Bullard, Troup, New London, Arp, New Salem, Mount Selman, Joinerville, Mixon, Turnertown, Reese, Lake Palestine, New Summerfield, Noonday and New Chapel Hill.

Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Henderson, Anderson and Van Zandt counties until 10:30 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm was located near Brownsboro moving east at 35 mph. This severe thunderstorm will be near Lake Palestine around 9:50 p.m.

Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Wood, Smith, Cass, Marion, Morris, Titus, Franklin, Harrison, Upshur, Gregg, Camp, Sabine, Nacogdoches, Shelby, Angelina, San Augustine Panola counties until midnight.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for Rains, Van Zandt, Henderson, Anderson, Franklin, Wood, Smith, Cherokee, Rusk, Gregg, Upshur, Camp, Titus, Morris, Cass, Marion, & Harrison counties until 10 PM. Large hail, damaging winds and a tornado or two are possible.

TONIGHT: A few storms are possible before midnight. Some storms could be strong to severe. Chance of rain: 40%. Low: 72. Winds: S 5-10 MPH.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny with an isolated storm or two to our west. High: 92. Winds: S 10-15 MPH.
