Several tons of roof shingles block Aurora road after box truck rollover

DENVER (KDVR) — A rollover crash involving a box truck in Aurora caused several tons of roof shingles to block the roadway Monday afternoon, according to the Aurora Police Department.

The incident happened on Powhaton Road near Colfax Avenue. The crash and debris forced the roadway to close in both directions between Colfax and 6th Avenue.

Aurora police and the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office told FOX31 that multiple vehicles were hit by wood and metal debris. No injuries were reported as of 2 p.m.

Police said there was no estimated time for when the road would reopen.
