A total of 16 people needed medical attention after a USC bus and a Metro train collided in Los Angeles late Tuesday morning.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the collision occurred at 11:54 a.m. on Exposition Boulevard between Normandie Avenue and Figueroa Street near the USC campus.
The train involved was the Metro E line, which travels from Santa Monica to East Los Angeles. Around 150 passengers were on board.
The transport bus, operated by the University of Southern California, was reported to have at least two occupants at the time of the collision, KTLA 5’s Rich Prickett said, adding that both were hospitalized, one with minor injuries and one with moderate injuries.
Multiple train passengers suffered injuries, LAFD confirmed. As many as nine people requested to be transported to hospitals, Prickett said, while about 15 were seen being treated at the scene. As many as 30 people were onboard the train at the time.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Metro announced on social media that the crash will temporarily prevent service on the Metro E line between the Expo/Vermont station and the Jefferson/USC station.

An interesting new behavior is both superficial and revealing about these systems: they pick random numbers as if they're human beings, which is to say, badly. This is actually a very old and well known limitation that we, humans, have: we overthink and misunderstand randomness.
