Several departments respond to Waverly house fire

WAVERLY, N.Y. (WETM) — Sirens rang out in the valley on Wednesday after a reported house fire in Waverly blocked a village street for some time.

According to an 18 News reporter at the scene, emergency crews from Waverly Barton Fire Department and other valley departments responded to a home on Cooper Street around 7 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3.

Cooper Street was shut down while crews worked inside to find and work on any fire.

The home was observed around 8 a.m. with no flames visible then, but emergency crews left the front door open.

Waverly Barton Fire Department remained on the scene while other crews were cleared of the area.

Tioga County Fire Investigators were seen pulling into the driveway with crews investigating.

Little details are available and it’s unknown how the fire started or if anyone was injured. 18 News will update this story when more information is made available.
