Seventh Generation acquires reusable water bottle maker bobble for undisclosed sum

BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) -- Seventh Generation, which makes environmentally friendly consumer products, said Friday that it acquired Bobble, a maker of reusable, self-filtering water bottles.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

New York-based Bobble's bottles come with a replaceable filter that removes chlorine and impurities from traditional tap water.

Privately held Seventh Generation said Bobble, whose bottles are designed to replace disposable water bottles, are the perfect addition it its product lineup, which is in the process of expanding from its traditional home-care, baby, and health and beauty lines to include more lifestyle products.

Seventh Generation said it will preserve the Bobble brand, retain the company's founders and continue the company's relationship with designer Karim Rashid.
