Seven found clinging to capsized boat in chilly California bay, rescuers say

Seven people were found in chilly ocean waters clinging to a capsized boat, California firefighters reported.

Six adults and a child spilled into Tomales Bay in Northern California when their boat overturned around 3 p.m. Saturday, April 13, the Marin County Fire Department said in a post to X, formerly Twitter.

Firefighters responding to a call for help from the boaters rescued all seven, officials said.

They were treated by paramedics for exposure to cold, firefighters said. Three were taken to hospitals for further treatment.

Videos and photos with the post show firefighters helping the boaters from the water and onto shore.

Tomales Bay is about a 50-mile drive northwest from San Francisco.
