Services for all West Virginia DMVs are back online

CHARLESTON, WV (WVNS) — Services are restored for all West Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) locations after a recent mainframe issue.

West Virginia DMV mainframe issues affect services

The services at all the 26 regional DMV offices and the county sheriff’s offices are also active again. Online services, including the DMV Now kiosk have also had their services restored. All the offices are open on Friday, April 19, 2024 and are working their normal business hours.

The outage was discovered on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, and affected many services such as driver’s licenses, IDs, and car registration renewals. All DMV services were down for only 24 hours. The issue was resolved on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 8:30 P.M.
