One dead in three-car crash at Powers and Old Ranch

UPDATE: FRIDAY 4/19/2024 5:50 p.m.

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — One person has died following a three-car crash that occurred just after 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 19 on North Powers Boulevard at Old Ranch Road.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers responded at 2:37 p.m. to the area on a reported multi-car crash with injuries. CSPD said when officers arrived, they found that three cars had been involved.

One of the drivers was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, all other drivers were treated on scene and released.

While officers were investigating the crash, they were informed that the driver taken to the hospital had died.

The Major Crash Team responded, and northbound lanes were still closed as of 6 p.m. Friday. Drivers are encouraged to plan alternate routes.

ORIGINAL STORY: Serious crash at Powers and Old Ranch, expect delays

A serious crash is likely to cause delays on North Powers Boulevard, and the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) is asking travelers to be patient.

CSFD posted about the crash shortly before 3 p.m. on Friday, April 19, and said multiple cars had been involved. Multiple people are injured, CSFD said.
