Serena Williams' husband puts up billboards calling her "The Greatest Momma of All Time"
Serena Williams is unquestionably one of the greatest tennis players of all-time. But lately, Williams has taken on a different role: motherhood. She gave birth to her daughter, little Alexis Olympia, in September. Olympia (as Williams likes to call her) is named after her father, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, who married Williams in November.
Williams nearly died giving birth to Olympia, but now she’s getting ready to go back to tennis. And her husband knew just how to support her — and surprise her.
These just went up on alongside I-10 into Palm Springs. @OlympiaOhanian & I wanted to welcome her back to tennis. Designed them myself, with some help from Jr.#GMOAT pic.twitter.com/zRcMmxhgB5

Ohanian bought space on four consecutive billboards that proclaim her “The Greatest Momma of All Time.” The billboards are on the California highway that leads to the BNP Paribas Open, where Williams will be competing on March 5.
The billboards are adorable, and feature little Alexis Olympia smiling on her own and with her momma. It’s a very thoughtful gift, but it also gives every other “welcome back to work” gift a bad name. How can flowers or even jewelry stand up to four billboards celebrating the best mother of all time? They really can’t. If the couple has another child, Ohanian is going to have to do a lot of work to top this.
Even though billboards are an insane “welcome back” gift, it’s a nice reminder that athletes are human, too. Williams might be one of the greatest athletes to ever live, but she’s also a new mom going back to work for the first time. That’s not easy, but hopefully those billboards remind her that no matter how she does on the court, she’s got Alexis Sr. and Jr. waiting for her at home.
