Sentenced: Indecent liberties with a child in Catawba County

CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Virginia man was sentenced this week after a guilty plea involving indecent liberties with a child, the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office said.

Cameron Blair, 23, of Virginia, pled guilty on Tuesday, March 5, to indecent liberties with a child and kidnapping charges.

Deputies stated that they began investigating Blair after learning of online interactions he was having with a juvenile dating back to early 2023.

Blair traveled to the teen’s home on April 5 where deputies in the area responded to calls regarding a suspicious vehicle. The teen was found in Blair’s passenger seat and Blair was arrested.

Shortly after his guilty plea, he was sentenced to at least five years in prison in North Carolina.
