Senior community living project in Baton Rouge gets $850K grant

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — A new senior community will be coming to Baton Rouge as part of the BR Choice transformation plan for the Ardendale area.

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas announced a $850,000 grant to Partners Southeast for the development of Cypress at Ardendale Senior, according to a release from Partners Southeast.

“Cypress at Ardendale Senior addresses the growing need for senior housing in the Baton Rouge area,” said CEO of East Baton Rouge Parish Housing Authority and Partners Southeast, J. Wesley Daniels. “This impactful investment leverages additional financing to create 70 high-demand homes for seniors.”

According to a release from Partners Southeast, there will be over 400 new residential units and 70-unit senior independent living in the community, and it is expected to be built by 2025.

The community will also feature several amenities including art installations, computer lab, fitness center, community room, outdoor patio kitchen, an urban park, and walkable pathways, according to a release.

The community will be located at 1701 N. Ardenwood Drive in Baton Rouge.
