Senate panel to set revenue estimate for NH budget

Senate Ways and Means Committee to set its revenue estimate for New Hampshire budget

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) -- A Senate panel is meeting Tuesday to set its revenue estimates for spending in the New Hampshire budget over the next two years.

The Ways and Means Committee's projections are important because the chamber's budget writers will use them to craft the Senate's version of the budget. The Senate will vote on the budget in a few weeks. The Senate and House then will try to negotiate a compromise over differences in their plans.

The spending plan must be in place by the time the new fiscal year begins on July 1.
