Seminole County to step up traffic enforcement
Apr. 23—Seminole County Sheriff Anthony Louie made a post to social media Sunday indicating his office will be stepping up traffic enforcement to deter irresponsible motorist behavior.
Louie said he recently learned that Seminole County is high on a list of fatality crashes.
"As the sheriff of the county, a husband, a father, and a friend to many, this disheartens me," Louie said. "It's time that we begin to make our roadways safer for each member of this community. My office will be implementing a traffic enforcement plan as well as a traffic education outreach."
Louie asks that motorists be alert when passing traffic stops.
"Going forward, when you see more traffic stops being conducted, please be aware that we are actively working to reduce our number of crashes," Louie said. "Also, keep in mind that when you encounter a traffic stop, please use caution until you have passed the deputy and the vehicle that is stopped."
