Semi-Trucks Band Together to Save Man Threatening Suicide on Bridge

The Michigan State Police devised a unique way to help a man threatening suicide on a highway overpass.

They pulled together multiple semi-trucks under the bridge in Detroit to keep him from falling too far in case he jumped.

All lanes of I-696 were closed in both directions at the Coolidge exit Tuesday as a man threatened suicide.

Thirteen semi-trucks lined up on along the west and eastbound lanes.

Negotiators talked to the man for several hours until he eventually walked off the bridge in a peaceful ending.

He was taken by Huntington Woods Police to Beaumont Hospital for evaluation.
