Semi garbage truck tips over, killing Utah County man

UTAH COUNTY (ABC4) — A Utah County man died Wednesday morning after a semi garbage truck tipped over and landed on him.

The incident happened at about 5 a.m. at the Intermountain Regional Landfill in Fairfield, Utah, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies said two semi garbage trucks were side by side when one of them — with its dump trailer fully extended — moved forward to empty the garbage and hit a soft spot, causing the trailer to tip over and land on the cab of the other semi, killing its driver.

The victim has been identified as a 60-year-old man from Lehi, but no other information is being provided at this time.
