Selena Gomez: ‘Taylor Swift Sobbed Backstage When I Performed At The AMAs’

Taylor Swift appears to be bezzie mates with practically everybody at the moment, but one of her most-publicized and long-running friendships of all is with Selena Gomez, who ironically played the ‘baddie’ in TayTay’s ‘Bad Blood’ music video that was released earlier this year.

Nothing like a healthy bit or irony to kickstart the lolz, eh?

Anyways, over the years the strength of Sel and Taylor’s friendship has come under fire, especially when Selena’s ex, Justin Bieber, is mentioned - with many-a-rumour circulating that Taylor doesn’t approve of her pal’s lurve life.

Now, speaking to Manchester radio station KEY 3, Selena has put all of those rumours to bed for once and for all, admitting that Taylor is pretty much one of the best things that has ever happened to her.

WARNING: Ultimate #BFFGoals ahead….

Opening up about Taylor helping her in the music industry, 23-year-old Selena explained: “If anything Taylor’s just been such an incredible inspiration and she’s just like one of my biggest supporters and I don’t think people know that as much as they think that she is.

“She has always wanted to see me find what makes me different and never forced her opinion too much; she would just tell me what she believed and what she thinks I should do and I’ve known her for eight years, so it’s something that we’ve always kind of been in tune with.”

And on top of giving her bezzie on point and honest advice, Taylor has also been Selena’s biggest cheerleader, with the former Disney star revealing that the 25 year old was so overcome with emotion during Selena’s performance at the AMAs that she was literally sobbing backstage.

If that’s not sisterly support then we don’t know what is, tbh.

Selena added: “At the AMAs when I performed ‘The Heart Wants What It Wants’ she was like sobbing backstage and she’s like, ‘I’m so proud of you, that was everything I always wanted people to see about you’.

“It’s just like really cool, she’s incredible.”

Cor, can we have Taylor come and cheer us on regularly as well, please? Something tells us that there’s nothing quite like Taylor Swift enthusiasm to get you feeling ruddy brilliant about life.
