Selena Gomez shocked all of her 128 million Instagram followers in September when she revealed she underwent a secret kidney transplant due to her diagnosis of Lupus. The songstress reported that she received a kidney donation from actress and close friend Francia Raisa.

Gomez and Raisa sat down with Savannah Guthrie for a three-part interview opening up about the transplant.

"It was really kind of life or death ... My kidneys were just done. That was it and I didn’t want to ask a single person in my life … and she volunteered and did it.” Gomez shared with Guthrie.

Since undergoing surgery, Gomez has not pumped the breaks on her career. The triple-threat is currently in the middle of filming a new Woody Allen movie and just released her new song with Marshmello this Wednesday titled 'Wolves."

Gomez has also been spotted out and about around New York City where she reportedly resides with boyfriend The Weeknd.

The interview will air on Monday and Tuesday morning as well as on the NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt.
