Selena Gomez’s Mom, Mandy Teefey, Is “Not Happy” About Justin Bieber

Since their November 2017 reunion, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have been spending a lot of time together. From a reported New Year's vacation in Mexico to sporting matching workout clothes, the pair is seems pretty committed to their rekindled romance. Sadly, sources say Selena's family has not been as supportive — and now Selena's mom, Mandy Teefey, is sharing her opinion on the relationship in a new interview.

In an interview with Gossip Cop, Mandy explained that she is "not happy" about the couple's relationship, but the decision remains up to her daughter. “Selena can live her life however she wants as long as she is happy, safe and healthy," she said. "She is 25 years old and knows what is at stake with her health. I do not control her the way it has been portrayed. Selena is an adult and can make her own choices.”

In the interview, Mandy shared that she knew she wouldn't always be managing Selena's career. The mom explained that she stopped working with Selena in 2014 for no other reason than that it was no longer enjoyable for any member of the family. She said: "Every mother and daughter has disagreements. We never expected to manage her her whole life. We lost family time because the only time we saw her, we talked business. It was no longer fun for any of us, like it was when she was younger and we had to be with her because she was a minor.”

Mandy further shared that she hasn't spoken or texted with Justin in years. A previous source told E! News that Justin didn't want to come between the mother and daughter's relationship.

For their part, neither Selena nor Justin have spoken out about Mandy's comments. E! reports that Selena did not return a request for comment.
