Have you seen the size of the NFL Draft Theater stage at Kansas City’s Union Station?

The NFL Draft ceremonies start April 27 in Kansas City. The three day event is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of fans from all over the country. Event promoters are claiming that the draft is the biggest event ever hosted in the city.

A big event requires a big stage.

The draft ceremonies will take place at what is being called the NFL Draft Theater. The theater, which has been under construction for nearly two weeks in front of Union Station, is appropriately enough, the size of a football field.

Supports were added to shore up the roof of the parking garage that is below the parking lot in front of Union Station and directly under the stage.

The stage will be the place where the nationally televised draft ceremonies take place. It will also house broadcast booths for several networks covering the event and will be where musical acts perform each night after the draft concludes.

South of Union Station at the National WWI Museum and Memorial, football fans will have a chance to live out their fantasies of playing professional ball at the NFL Draft Experience, a collection of interactive football exhibits and games. Dozens of tents have been constructed on the south lawn of the museum for the event.

Here are photos of the enormous stage under construction.
