Will we see snow? Here's what to expect and when

Beginning Tuesday night, snow is possible around Greater Cincinnati.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook, warning of areas of light snow possible Tuesday night. While any snow accumulations may be minor, cold pavement temperatures may allow for slick spots to develop and could impact the morning commute Wednesday.

If we see measurable snow, it will be our first such accumulation of the winter season for most parts of the region. Forecasters are predicting a 30-40% chance of snow in a narrow band with accumulations of around half an inch. Currently, forecasters say the areas that could see snow are southeast Indiana and the northeast portions of the Tristate. Most of us mayust see flurries.

The warning affects the Tristate area around Cincinnati, including counties in Southeast Indiana; Northeast and Northern Kentucky and South Central, Southwest and West Central Ohio.

After highs reaching the mid-30s Tuesday, there's a chance of snow overnight mainly between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Snow accumulation of less than half an inch is possible.
