See-saw temperatures with some showers across Utah

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Tuesday, Utah! After a bit of a stormy start to the week, we’ll be a little calmer today, but it won’t be completely calm.

The system that drove the cold front yesterday is slowly exiting the area and, given its proximity, there will be a chance of spotty showers again today. The best chance of any wet weather will be east of I-15 and north of I-70.

Cooler with lingering showers for parts of Utah

Outside of any wet weather, we’ll see partly cloudy skies as daytime highs run about five to 10 degrees below average across the state. Northern Utah will see a mix of 50s and 60s while southern Utah will mainly see 60s and 70s.

For the middle of the week, we’ll see a brief break in the action with calmer skies and more seasonal temperatures, as the 70s make a brief return to the Wasatch Front.

The calm won’t last too long, with another weak system set to clip the state late tomorrow into Thursday to bring more shower potential and temperatures on the cooler side again with low to mid 60s expected.

Temperatures will moderate once again Friday into Saturday; however, a weak system will bring more shower potential and a small cool-down by Sunday. Instead of highs running about five to 10 degrees below average though, we’ll be closer to three to five degrees below average.

By Memorial Day into the first half of next week, high pressure looks like it will build in to bring a string of warmer and calmer weather.
