Kanye West sent out a message of love and support when he took the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards stage. The rapper was invited on-stage to introduce his new music video for "Fade," and was given four minutes to address the crowd on a topic of his choice. Naturally, he didn't prepare a speech.

"I am Kanye West, and that feels really great to say, especially this year. I came here to present my new video, but before I do that, I'm talk," he opened. "Now, later tonight, famous might lose to Beyonce but I can't be mad. I'm always wishing for Beyonce to win, so," he joked, referencing that time he interrupted Taylor Swift's VMAs acceptance speech, declaring that Bey should have won.

But this time around, West was spewing a message of love and flashing his rare smile. "Last week there were 22 people murdered in Chicago. You know, people come to me like, 'Man, that's right, take down Taylor.' Bro, like, I love all y'all. That's why I called her."

The camera cut to his supportive wife Kim Kardashian West, who lovingly looked on at her husband from the audience. "Tonight, we are going to have fun. I'm standing in front of my idol, Puff Daddy. I'm standing in front of my wife, Kim Kardashian West. I'm standing in front of Future, Chance the Rapper, 2 Chainz. We are undeniably the influencers, the thought leaders. I'm gonna play y'all a piece of my heart and I just hope y'all have a good time," West finished.

Viewers were then treated to the world premiere of the rapper's new video, "Fade," which features singer Teyana Taylor showing off some incredible dance moves in a Flashdance-like crop top and thong ensemble.
