If you see this Indianapolis Zoo deal, it’s a scam. Here's what to know.

The Indianapolis Zoo shared on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday that there is a phishing ad circulating online promoting an 80th Anniversary discount promotion. This ad is a scam.

Here's what we know.

This is what the zoo scam looks like.

The fake offer claims that you can purchase four tickets to the Indianapolis Zoo for $6.95 for their 80th Anniversary.

"If you come across this 80th Anniversary discount promo, it is NOT REAL," the zoo wrote on X.

The scam has been circulating for a while.

The Indianapolis Zoo has had to mention the phishing ad to patrons for first pointed out the scam to zoo patrons on X on Feb. 26.

"If you see an ad like this, please do not click on this!" the zoo wrote on X. "They are #scams to collect your information by falsely using the Indianapolis Zoo's name."

The Indianapolis Zoo is not the only venue involved.

The Indianapolis Zoo is not the only zoo that has been included in this scam.

"Several zoos & aquariums across the country are being targeted with the same FAKE OFFER," The Indianapolis Zoo wrote on X.

If you see an ad like this, the Indianapolis Zoo asks you report it.

The zoo asks that if you come across one of these ads that you report the ad and the account that posted it to help them get removed to prevent any more zoo patrons falling victim to the scam.
