See what it’s like to fly with the Blue Angels!

BELLE CHASSE, La. (WGNO) — The New Orleans Air show returns March 23 through 24 at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Belle Chasse. The biggest stars of the show will be the Navy’s Blue Angels.

WGNO’s Curt Sprang was selected for the once in a lifetime opportunity to fly inside one of the team’s jets. Lt. Connor O’Donnell piloted Blue Angels 7, taking Curt through a series of maneuvers.

The flight is as challenging as it is inspiring. Some maneuvers place more than 6Gs on the body, which requires the pilot and passenger to take steps to avoid the possibility of passing out due to a reduction of blood flow to the brain.

Watch the story to find out more about the flight. Below, Curt has a photo gallery with some insider information about his flight!
