See All 12 of Tracee Ellis Ross' High-Fashion Outfit Changes While Hosting the AMAs

Tracee Ellis Ross is hosting the American Music Awards in true Tracee Ellis Ross fashion: with multiple amazing, over-the-top outfits that worthy of their own awards.

The Black-Ish star took the red carpet ahead of hosting the show, dressed in a long-sleeve red sequin gown by Stella McCartney with Tamara Mellon heels and Irene Neuwirth jewelry. Her matching red lip, courtesy of makeup artist Matin, was Chantecaille’s “Carmen.”

Of course, that won’t be her only outfit for the night. The star spoke to People ahead of the event, and while she could only tease that the show would be “really fun,” she did hint that we could expect some major style moments throughout the evening.

“You know I love clothes. I’m a style girl, I’m a fashion girl,” she tells People after recently launching her own clothing line in JC Penney. “Often I dress myself but for occasions like this I work with the extraordinary Karla Welsh and she and I have been cooking up a storm.”

She then wore statement Christian Louboutin boots with a vintage Halston sequin jumpsuit and wine lip.

Of course, a fashion tribute to her mother Diana Ross, whom she honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award during the show, was on the docket – and she went one step beyond a tribute, actually wearing a shirt from her mom’s 1981 performance with Michael Jackson that she found in her mom’s garage.

She wore a bodysuit with sheer overlay and a floral crown with minimal jewelry.

She then went full diva in a sparkling black catsuit with oversized, shaggy white floor-length coat.

And then gave us an opportunity to check out the catsuit with a dramatic coat drop.

She picked a plunging ruffled peplum number with slim Christian Louboutin stilettos and major Irene Neuwirth hoops.

She introduced Pink’s performance in a glittery golden long-sleeved Tom Ford gown (you can see it Kira Kira in motion here).

And finally, she closed out the night onstage with the rest of her family following her mom’s performance wearing a black long-sleeved Michael Kors Collection dress with stripes of sequins on the bias and caped sleeves.
