Second man facing first-degree murder charge after March fatal shooting in Greenacres

GREENACRES — The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office has arrested a second person in connection to the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old Greenacres man in March.

Irijah Nembhard, 21, of West Palm Beach is facing charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery in the March 15 death of Jean Oneal Guilliaume outside the 20-year-old's apartment in Waterway Village, a gated apartment complex at Jog Road and Cresthaven Boulevard.

Circuit Judge Charles Burton ordered Nembhard to be held without bail at the Palm Beach County Jail. The Palm Beach County Public Defender's Office represented Nembhard at the hearing. As of a matter of policy, the Public Defender's Office does not comment on open cases.

Investigators say cellphone records revealed a connection between Nembhard and Lucas Torres, a 23-year-old suburban West Palm Beach man who was arrested on a first-degree murder charge in March and who remains at the jail.

The report did not specify who fired the fatal shot.

At the time of Torres' arrest, PBSO said there was evidence placing him at the scene of a marijuana sale with Guillaume that turned into a robbery.

According to Torres' arrest report, he and Guilliaume negotiated a 2-pound marijuana deal inside the victim’s apartment at Waterway Village. Hours later, deputies found Guilliaume dead with multiple shotguns wounds in the parking lot outside his apartment.

Detectives who studied surveillance-camera video of the area identified a Nissan Altima that was registered to Nembhard, according to an arrest report. They tracked the vehicle to an address in West Palm Beach.

Nembhard was seen exiting the residence and was detained, the report said. Investigators obtained a warrant for the address, where they reportedly found a 9 mm handgun and 1.5 pounds of marijuana.

Nembhard confirmed that he owns Nissan, but told investigators that he routinely rents it out. He was not able say who rented the vehicle or confirm that it was rented.

He denied being at the homicide scene and said he did not know the victim or anyone else involved. However, cellphone records revealed a connection between Nembhard and Torres, the report said.

Guilliaume's death is one of 38 confirmed homicides in Palm Beach County this year, according to a Palm Beach Post online database.
