Second man arrested, charged in shooting of 2 in Robeson County

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTW) — A Maxton man is facing a felony assault charge in connection with a Wednesday shooting that left two people with serious injuries.

Jerry Oxendine, 70, of Maxton, was arrested Saturday in Wilkes County. He’s facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, inflicting serious injury and possession of firearm by a convicted felon.

Oxendine’s son, Trevor, was arrested Thursday on similar charges.

Deputies say they’re behind a May 22 shooting at an Ironhorse Drive home in Maxton that resulted in two people being shot.
