Second defendant convicted of firebombing in Fond du Lac in 2016
FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) – A second defendant was convicted of firebombing from an incident in July of 2016 in the city of Fond du Lac.
According to Fond du Lac District Attorney Eric Toney, 26-year-old Elliot J. Schneider was convicted of several felony charges for allegedly using an explosive device that caused damage to a residence and endangered safety.

Schneider was convicted of damage to property by use of explosives, first-degree reckless endangering safety, and felony bail jumping.
Co-defendant Jonas Johnson was previously convicted of related charges and is awaiting sentencing. Schneider’s sentencing has been set for May 24 at 1:30 in front of Judge Anthony Nehls.
“We greatly appreciate the years of dedicated investigation by our law enforcement partners to help secure these convictions today,” stated Toney. “The defendant’s dangerous and violent actions threatened the safety and security of numerous occupants of the home. We are grateful injuries were not more serious and look forward to the May 24 sentencing date for the defendant to be held accountable and for justice on behalf of the victims and our community.”
The Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation and the City of Fond du Lac Police Department investigated this case, with assistance from the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives Agency (ATF).
