Seasonal spring day with warmer days ahead

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) – Happy Wednesday, Utah! We are halfway through the workweek.

Today will bring fairly typical spring conditions across the state with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies, a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, and near average daytime highs.

Comfortable spring-like weather for Utah midweek

Highs in northern Utah will mainly range in the 60s and 70s with a mix of 60s to 80s down south as St. George hits the 90 degree mark. The best chance of storms this afternoon will be along and east of I-15, with wet weather generally favoring the high terrain.

Tonight will bring mostly clear to partly cloudy skies with overnight lows that will be nearly identical to what we had last night.

As we head toward the close of the work week, high pressure returns with sunshine and above average highs. Ample sunshine and warming temperatures will once take over.

Daytime highs will reach the upper 70s for northern Utah, possibly 80 degrees or above for Salt Lake on Friday.

The warmth will likely stick around into this weekend — however, we could become a little unsettled once again this time next week.

Temperatures will likely run a little closer to or even a little below seasonal norms with a daily chance of showers and storms.
